140 Voices was updated daily by clients and residents of homeless charity, The Wallich, from 1st July 2011, and 'locked' to become our charity's Annual Review on the 31st August 2011. 100's of entries were narrowed down to 140 by a panel of staff and clients.
What you see here, now, is the result – 140 entries, 140 voices, 140 real life opinions about homelessness, by people who have actually experienced homelessness.

When homeless I was cold, lonely and had nowhere to go. I am now waiting to move in to my own flat in the next week.

My philosophy is you cant do everything at once. You have to take it one step at a time.

My experience of being in the hostel was good, I felt like I was part of a family. It felt like my home. I still need support from services.
Stephen from Blaenau Gwent, 03 August 2011 at 14:41
My Wallich Support Worker helped me voice my opinions in a calm way. I felt very frustrated with the housing system. No1 else was listening.
Frances from Blaenau Gwent, 03 August 2011 at 14:35
I find it difficult to trust anyone. I have been under threat of losing my home & my support worker helped me to engage with other services.

My Experience with learning IT and going to college I find good for me, cause leaving school with nothing and now having new skills is fab!
The Wallich has more than 30 years' experience of helping the most excluded and marginalised people in society; those with no home, experiencing extreme poverty and suffering poor health.
We have successfully housed many who have been street homeless, helped those with severe social problems and supported many people in rebuilding their lives after experiencing homelessness.
